MEET OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Kimberly TeeKimberly Tee is a Senior UX Researcher at Shopify, where she focuses on understanding the needs and challenges of businesses who use Shopify's ecommerce platform. She has over 10 years of industry UX experience, including as a UX researcher at Microsoft on the Windows 10 team, as a UX generalist at SMART Technologies on the education software team, and as a UX designer at Boltmade consulting on a variety of projects. She completed her M.Sc. in Computer Science and HCI at the University of Calgary, and her B.Sc. in Computer Science at the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Lennart NackeProfessor Nacke teaches User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, and Game Design at the University of Waterloo. As part of the Stratford School of Interaction Design and Business and the Games Institute, he is researching player experience in video games, immersive VR environments, and gameful applications, often using physiological measures together with surveys and player interviews. Professor Nacke has served on the steering committee of the International Game Developers Association Games User Research Special Interest Group in the past, was the chair of the CHI PLAY conference steering committee from 2014-2018. His publications have won Best Paper Honourable Mention (awarded to the top five percent) and Best Paper Awards (awarded to the top one percent) at the premier human-computer interaction conferences CHI 2011 and CSCW 2012. He has published more than 100 scientific papers, which have been cited more than 10,000 times. He strongly believes in understanding users first to build more engaging games and compelling player experiences.

WHAT IS THE IUW?The Inter-University Workshop (IUW) is an annual student-run workshop that attracts research students, professors, and industry members of the Human Factors and Ergonomics community. Each year, the workshop is hosted among the University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, and SUNY Buffalo.
